Hi, I'm Dominique.
Licensed Professional Counselor & Founder of Athena Counseling Services

Why I Became a Therapist
My journey to providing mental health therapy and advocacy is rooted in my story. I'm committed to my personal therapy, where I explored concerns with perfectionism, people-pleasing tendencies, and identity formation. I utilize my life experiences to provide an earnest atmosphere for others.
I founded Athena Counseling Services because I believe everyone deserves a space where they can be honest about what they're going through and express themselves freely. I hope to be the presence I once needed – someone who understands the clinical and logistical aspects of human nature, but also grounds her work in compassion, warmth, and authenticity.
My approach is deeply relational. I'll meet you exactly where you are; whether you're navigating anxiety that won't quiet down, grief that feels impossible to carry, or a season of life that's left you feeling lost - I'm here for it. All of it.

A Few Things About Me
I'm a firm believer that coffee fixes most mornings and a good walk fixes most afternoons.
A good conversation, on the phone or in person, goes a long way for me.
A perfect weekend for me is simple: trying a new resturant, a bookstore, and nothing scheduled.
I have two dogs named Eli and Margot and they are my world.
I named my practice after Athena — the goddess of wisdom and courage — because I think healing takes both.

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
— Carl Rogers, Founder of Person-Centered Therapy
